I know I am not the only one, but I can't seem to be able to play GTA V on Proton anymore for a few weeks now. Not sure what is the root cause (Nvidia driver? I am on 415.x) as I have seen people still reporting it works great.

Make sure you have microsoft fonts installed first of all.

sudo apt install ttf-mscorefonts-installer

> Run sudo su to gain root privileges.

> Run echo “DefaultLimitNOFILE=1048576” >> /etc/systemd/system.conf

> Run echo “DefaultLimitNOFILE=1048576” >> /etc/systemd/user.conf

> Run systemctl daemon-reexec.

These are said to be are necessary for GTA V to run...

Is this new though? Apart from the fonts install before GTAV worked pretty much out of the box before. So it is probably not Proton related.

@boilingsteam @Linux I heard about it should be run via winedbg since an update. ProtonDB states that this launch option helps: 'WINEDLLOVERRIDES=winedbg.exe=d %command%'
Or did you get it working again already?

@Corben78 @Linux
If my memory is correct ProtonDB states that this is necessary to run GTA Online, but not for the single player - is that right?

@boilingsteam @Linux Haven't tried it myself, but yeah, but be online related only.
