Former First Lady of USA, Barbara Bush, died yesterday. I posted a letter that I received from her in 1991 on my blog. http://tutormentor.blogspot.com/2018/04/letter-from-barbara-bush-march-1991.html
She wrote "I salute you for reaching out to involve other corporations in establishing programs like Montgomery Ward's, and I have every hope that your experience with Cabrini-Green's children will convince others that education is everybody's business."
I've been trying to do that for 27 years.
@dogtrax Sad, but true.
Here's a link to my monthly newsletter. Hope you'll share it with others. http://tutormentorconference.org/newsletters/TMI_Apr_May2018.htm
I point to many of my blog articles in these. And, I keep adding new links to some. Here's article about youth service & inequality. Look to bottom to see link added today. Article by Peter Levine of CIRCLE. http://tutormentor.blogspot.com/2017/09/takeaknee-apply-to-rest-of-story.html
@tutormentor1 The power of letter writing ... even if you don't agree with her politics, there's a sense in humanity, of her reaching out and recognizing the work you were/are doing. I have a hard time imagining the current occupant of that office doing anything similar ....
