@loke @trevorb If these two ideas were to co-exist, roads would need to be largely underground and given the complexity of infrastructure in many major cities, this would be pretty much unsustainable. This is not a technology problem (as you've pointed out), it could be "achieved" with cars in their current form.

@Gargron First few episodes employ every fantasy trope ever. It gets better from there and is quite a fun series. The non-linearity of it all is not as obvious at the start as it should be.

For real like Bandcamp is exactly the kind of service we *hoped* the internet would give us: โ€œhey, people make things, they set their own price inc. free, we provide the storefront, you buy it and the money goes to the creator, you get it in a DRM-free format and can play it however you want, we just make money to keep going & improving and arenโ€™t a VC-funded nightmare company of rampant reckless growth that will do something nightmarish and implode.โ€

We need more media platforms like that.

Rewriting some UI code and playing a game of "whose toot is that anyway"

"If I put this in a weird spot then I'll be forced to remember where I put it" - Me, about to lose something forever.

Someone please write a twitter bot, which instead of โ€œunrollingโ€ threads, compiles them into markdown, converts it to a data URL and DMs the link to the poster, with an admonishment to blog it.

Last night I dreamt that Weird Al did a cover of "Come out and play" by The Offspring, except the hook was "you gotta keep 'em federated".

@WAHa_06x36 I feel like this needs to be a Wikipedia list article โ€” "List of authors who turned out to be awful people"

@bclindner according to the FAQ, they've given themselves a ~4000 year release buffer. So I'm personally looking forward to playing it on the Nintendo Switch 5261-XL

I'm gonna keep posting this until one of you fucking boosts it

Beta number 3 of Mercury for should be going out to folks on TestFlight soon! There are still a few spots left if you'd like to join in โ€” onmercury.app

Some things that were added in this build โœจ

We have about a dozen knives in our cutlery drawer. One of them is a little bent. About 827161717 times out of 10, that is the one that I happen to pick out. It's like I'm drawn to it or something!

I remember watching an interview in 2001 about Metal Gear Solid 2 in which Kojima mentioned he was inspired by playing hide and seek. I wonder if Death Stranding was inspired by snakes and ladders

Cybertruck is my favourite FTP client on the Mac

Over the past several months I have been chipping away at a client for iOS called Mercury.

I am excited that it is now available for beta testing! There's a sign up link at onmercury.app with only a handful of spots available to begin with and I will add more testers as time goes on.

This being the first beta, there are still some bugs to be squished and some UI to be polished. Issues and feature requests can be reported here: github.com/dNitza/mercury-issu

I don't mean to brag, but today I saw two ladybugs ๐Ÿž. One of which was just sitting on the wall behind me all day.
