Do people here talk baseball? Anyway, DeGrom going to the Rangers. That's a big deal huh?

The fact that Feedbin can extract the entire article even though the RSS seems to be headline only is magic

It’s been a tough week for our industry.

If you were affected by the #GannettLayoffs, #CNNLayoffs or #WashingtonPostLayoffs and have an in-depth story you want to pursue, pitch us (

Here's a short 🧵 on what we're looking for.

Been looking into RSS readers lately, and I have to say I'm impressed enough with Feedbin to pay for it. LMK your favorite RSS feeds!

Hello people of the Fediverse! Some of you may have heard that a new Mastodon client, Ivory,  is in development for iOS (and Mac!). This is true! Tapbots is going all in on Mastodon and we hope this place continues to grow and thrive. Tweetbot will continue to be developed alongside Ivory as a lot of code is shared. A new Mac version of Tweetbot and Ivory are also currently in development and we are working hard on getting those towards a public beta state.

PG-13 Tips

Sneak peek into some of my current/future projects/plans: i'm going to be doing more podcasts. I'm still figuring out a lot of stuff because logistics and time, but you'll be hearing from me more in the future!

I think if people don't think mastodon is for them -- whether it's because they encountered racism/sexism, or it's too hard, etc -- that it's an entirely valid experience. It's true that unpaid labor doing moderation probably isn't great, and it's true that the interface / experience isn't right for everyone. i don't really think simply saying "go to the right instance" is a great solution either. I do think Mastodon is a better place to be than Twitter, but that's kind of a low bar right now.

I've been looking for a Goodreads alternative for a while now, and I think nails exactly what I'm looking for... except I don't think it has a wide enough adoption. It's a shame because the look and feel is great. Hopefully it gets more love!

Glass Onion

We watched it in the theater! Great performances, fun cameos, overall solid movie. I don't think it's as good as the first one IMO but still fun. Most people should probably just watch it on Netflix -- that way you can pause, rewind, and go "whaaaa"

Sometimes I wish sports (in this case, football) has a pop up video overlay so I understand what happened (why was there a flag)

I’m watching Pepsi, Where’s My Jet on Netflix right now and it is very entertaining. Having not heard of this story before, the plot twist completely surprised me.

I stopped using Spotify last year when I just got tired of hearing yet another story about how awful Rogan is. I haven’t really missed it, but I did feel a small twinge of FOMO when a friend was talking about his Discover Weekly recently and I couldn’t share in return. I suspect that peer pressure is what keeps most people on platforms like Twitter, FB, etc. despite their own personal ethics and objections.

Hello friends! I was on Cordkillers this week, where we talked about the Disney CEO shakeup, Netflix letting you log out of remote devices and more. I also talk about how much I love Andor. Have a listen / watch!

I have set all my mastodon posts to "unlisted" which means you only see them if you follow me, and not in the local or federated timelines, and this has massively decreased the amount of sea-lioning from random white dudes I was getting. Thanks to all who suggested it.

It's wild to me that @hrheingold is on here! I used to read his books in journalism and comms classes.

it’s funny, i always thought of myself as kinda chaotic because i can be inconsistent and messy, but compared to twitter, i’m a bastion of order and organization.
