Arguably the best thing I read today: thisoldlisp.com/talks/els-2018

OK I just opened my laptop, but still.

Took quite some time but I managed to buy the perfect car and the cheapest price of the entire country (had to drive to the other side to get it).

My wife told me she's gonna make me a "I'm a cheap bastard" tshirt for christmas.

@thomasfuchs ‘close full page ad’ be like ‘accidentally open ad’ or ‘freak out because close button is hidden behind other browser/website elements’

@lrz You don't really navigate around. It's all one page that fakes navigation. It replaces parts of it when you click links and manipulates address bar to not break linking.

Many web apps do this. GMail. Facebook. Twitter. Even GitHub in a simplest form.

Mastodon does too. Click on different toots and watch the address bar.

Does anyone know how SoundCloud keeps the audio playback alive when you navigate on their website? Feels like magic.

Mayoral elections this Sunday. I pretty much don't care as I now live in a small village, however I'm gonna vote for the party that sent me the fewest spam -- unsurprisingly it's the green party. (Yes I do have to vote, it's mandatory here.)

Preparing what’s likely the last bbq of the year.

It has to be possible to like Tesla as a products line and a company, and at the same time disagreeing with the way Musk behaves.

Like my grand father used to say, one can enjoy Wagner without being a nazi (probably not a good comparison but heh :)).
