I recently decided to stop using #Facebook . However, I stumbled accross this article today from #theguardian
Makes me think if I will suffer the same? Though I don't think so, I don't mind the isolation. The everyday #value to me of those remaining #friends & #family are high, the rest I can afford to loose. I can meet them when ever I want.

@trwnh I agree, but my friends & family provide that meningful conversation, so by 'loosing' a bunch of digits on say facebook, you rid yourself of the illusion that all those numerours #facebook friends are the same kind of friends. The rest, even if your in contact seldom, are still friends to me. 😃
@kennetmattfolk good thoughts on this subject. For me I need to see if having a FB account, for small business purposes, is really worth my time. Likes on a page or a post doesn't turn into customers.
@afterconnery Yes, it depends on the business, in certain cases you must. Though I would say google search rankings are still more important than facebook. First thing I do when I want to find out something about a new thing is 'google' it (or startpage it) 😃. In the end, you need to figure out where your customer is, if their on Facebook, then it is a must to have imo. :)
@kennetmattfolk i can see this being a problem if one actually cares about the conversations. i personally do not.
what's happening in my family's whatsapp chat? i don't really care to know. did they add some photos to facebook? it doesn't really impact my life, and my mom will probably end up casting them to the TV anyway to show my grandma.
to me, it's not about losing anyone. it's about having wholesome conversation and communication. same with twitter vs. mastodon for me :)
