I’m probably latest of the late bloomers when it comes to “Stranger Things”. I didn’t get excited enough when it came out years ago, but now I have given it a second chance. And well...it’s good sci-fi/mystery/super natural entertainment.

I’ve now watched 5 episodes of season 1, while commuting to the office. Luckily tomorrow is Monday and can’t wait to hop on into a commuter train in the morning.

Reposting my tweet earlier this week, which I forgot to share in Mastodon so here comes.

If you are at all interested in how badly broken this “digital universe” we currently live in is, you should watch this presentation vimeo.com/342972799 and think through your approach of what kind of future for humanity you want.

With great minds like @laura and @aral, there is always hope.

I’ve been on summer vacation and since the weather is not that shabby in I’ve had some R&R with “The X-Files” season 1. It’s still amazingly good TV and stays easily on my top-3 list of all time greatest TV-series. Highly recommended 👍

Just started to upgrade Pop!_OS 18.10 to 19.04. Let’s see how it goes 🤞

Should bring kernel 5.0 and lots of other cool stuff to the desktop.

@JPEG thanks for keeping Mast updates flowing 🙏

I’ve a list created with few Mastodon users added. When I click the “three lines” icon on the top left corner in the timeline screen, the app just keeps crashing instantly. Is this something you’ve already heard of?

More information about the research can be found from the Privacy International’s website privacyinternational.org/campa

It would be interesting to read similar research regarding iOS apps.

Finally had time to watch this interesting talk from by Frederike Kaltheuner and Christopher Weatherhead. Highly recommended! media.ccc.de/v/35c3-9941-how_f

Oh yes...Mast on iPad feels really nice! I’d say ~5€ well spent 🤓

I went ahead and bought the Mast app for iOS. Used Amaroq so far as my Mastodon client but Mast lured me in with support for iPad.

So far the “midnight theme” is really eye candy and support for lists is highly appreciated 👍

Trying to recover after first day of the year at the office. Let’s see if couple of cups of this dark roast Monsoon Malabar coffee helps.

We took a nice visit to Porvoo today. The Old Town there is very beautiful area with all kinds of attractions.

Followed these support.system76.com/articles/ instructions to upgrade Pop!_OS 18.04 LTS to 18.10.

So far everything seems to work.

#IBM embraced #Linux for no other reasons than #Microsoft does it now, they just did it much earlier.

With the recent acquisition of #GitHub by MS and with the impending sale of #RedHat, we're again shown how quickly old, irrelevant players can utilize the cash earned by years of anti-competitive practices to erase any illusion you may have had of being able to escape them.

Holy smokes...Red Hat bought by IBM. After 20 years of my 1st installation of Red Hat Linux and it being an crucial part through my work career ever since, I don’t know what to think.

I genuinely dislike everything getting astronomically large and centralized so not much positive first thoughts apart from buyer not being Microsoft or Oracle.

Check out this new free #Linux magazine #CapitalF. The first issue has a nice interview with #purism and their upcoming #librem5 phone.

Ouh, it’s “back to the office”-time tomorrow after a one week break. So let’s have some evening coffee and cantuccinies for that. ☕️☕️☕️

Dear Fediverse,

What are your recommendations for crossposting toots to bird site?

I’m looking for a well working and most of all secure and trustworthy solution with minimal risk to getting screwed and leaking credentials or some other mischief.

Getting started with WireGuard on Linux using AzireVPN

I get asked about VPNs quite a bit so I thought I’d write a little about them, including the ones I use and trust, in the context of trying out the new WireGuard protocol.
