@jlori Good lists of journalists and US progressives. https://boskee.co.uk/mastodon-journalists/
@jlori
Love these #listOfPeople s. Which sounds a little chilling, now that I say it out loud.
@adamdavidson
@jlori this is great!! Thanks for sharing.
@jlori so how does one use these lists? Print them out and search for them?
@nahood It is better to search the online doc and pick the usernames to find them here.
@jlori this is amazing thank you!
@jlori @aramsinn my understanding is that current #fediverse culture frowns on lists like that if they’re not opt-in. Not everybody wants to “grow their network” and/or be inundated with follow requests. The default here seems to be slow and organic growth.
@mamamusings @aramsinn Thanks, Liz: The lists are opt-in and those who offer downloading as CSV file includes only users that have expressly agreed, for example: https://fedified.com/
By the way, there is not ONE culture in the Fediverse, but many different communities and approaches (and expanding very fast).
You are the best for posting these lists. Thank you!
@jlori For linguists: https://etherpad.wikimedia.org/p/mastodonlinguists @linguistics
@ElenLeFoll @linguistics Merci beaucoup, Elen!
@jlori Can I recommend maybe using a non-Google place to store these? Maybe GitHub or Codeberg?
@ocdtrekkie Good point for the authors of the lists ;)
@mikarv @ocdtrekkie I know, @NikaShilobod told me.
@mikarv @ocdtrekkie @NikaShilobod I also, share it in the #BirdSite https://nitter.net/jlori/status/1591803286184763396#m
@jlori thanks for sharing!

@NikaShilobod Great resource, many thanks!
The problem of lists
@TraciInFinland The lists are opt-in and those who offer downloading as CSV file includes only users that have expressly agreed, for example: https://fedified.com/
@jlori thank you!!!
@jlori Is there a way to batch follow the Journalism list, or is Mastodon not set up for that?
@barkflight Please, check with @tchambers
@jlori thanks for the helpful resource!
@jlori much thanks for the resources!
@jlori Thank you for this one!
@jlori great idea. Thank you for compiling this.
@jlori Thank you for that. Very useful.
@jlori I counted around 2160 people! Maybe some people are on multiple lists, though.
@jlori how do we work these again?
@BeanieMacIntosh There will be an updated version in a few days.
@jlori right 🤔
@jlori Gracias muy útil
@jlori Great, thank you! If at some time there would also be a list for economists and experts in financial markets, then that would be truly fantastic 😃
@daanballegeer Please, check this list and tell me: https://ideas.repec.org/i/emastodon.html
@jlori Beautiful, thanks!
@jlori how do you use these lists?
@nahood They can be useful for discovering new users to follow. Also, when asked about #NewsMedia on #Mastodon, I share the post's permalink for reference.
