Why We Can't Have Nice Things On The Internet: A Visual Essay In One Browser Screenshot: May 14, 2017 mastodon.social/media/hkjth7Bz

Okay, Mashable is out of my news list. Mashable has gone too far with their ads on their website. Full page overlays ads. Auto playing video you can't shut down. I try not to run Ad blockers, but your site is the reason people do. Bye Mashable.

I hope you all see why I wanted admin communication tools built into Mastodon, just so you know.

Literally do not have time, patience, or care, nor do other admins, to look after Discord, TeamSpeak (really?), Matrix/IRC, admins.town and the millions of other protocols I'm sure y'all wanna use. Tie it together or I might fuckin quit. Like literally.

I discourage admins from bikeshedding and balkanising based on favourites and going with what works.

The secret to a successful lemonade stand is vodka.

If you don't like the term "privilege" here's an alternative:

"Unfair advantage."

I carry a permanent marker, just in case someone without a mustache falls asleep.

sometimes I listen to high bpm dance music while I code and imagine I'm like a hacker in a club wearing a hoodie and shades while drinking dom perignon or something crackin' the planet

unfortunately my real life of figuring out how to sort rows in a table isn't even remotely as exciting

Dear Fox news,
I have yet to see any news about foxes.
Sincerely,
Disappointed Viewer.

@Gargron I had someone ask me *why* people must register before they can view posts in any Instance? I know they must register before posting, but it is a good question due to the nature of Mastodon.

I know there is the preview function as an alternative at unmung.com/mastoview.

Trying to argue with some people on some topics is absolutely futile.

It just makes enemies.

I used to just argue with anything I saw that boiled my blood. I've learned that creating bad blood that way is a pretty bad idea. Like shearing a pig: a lot of noise for not much wool.
