@milan Or, more specifically: "Chatsecure and Signal are specific clients built around protocols. Matrix is a protocol around which clients are built." I'd have to check more deeply to see if Chatsecure / Signal have any support for Matrix itself, though neither are mentioned in the FAQ, which suggests not.
