マストドンが非常に多言語のゾーンとして働いていて、Internetsが私に翻訳サービスを提供している限り、私はいくつかの異文化間の対話を試みています。私は戦争を開始しないことを願っています。
So long as Mastodon is operating as a very multilingual zone, and the Internets give me a translation service, I'm trying some cross-cultural dialog. I hope I don't start any wars.
@dredmorbius Are all the nihonjin on .cloud today? I'm not learning any nihongo on my instance.
@headlessideas A bunch showed up yesterday and the day before, after "ASCII" (a research centre & magazine) published a quite good overview of Mastodon. The reporter, a long-time computer researcher in Japan, had spun up his own server, and had a lot of thoughtful comments and comparisons to a number of other systems and sites.
It's been interesting watching all this sort out.
@dredmorbius Yeah, I talked to (and eavesdropped on) quite a few Japanese people yesterday. They are usually among the most gregarious adopters of new things on the internet.
I'm yet to see another user from my own country.
@headlessideas The Japanese ... do frequently take to things with enthusiasm.
What's your homeland?
@headlessideas जननी जन्मभूमिश्च स्वर्गादपि गरीयसी
@dredmorbius Yeah, that's actually the second line of a Sanskrit verse that an Indian prince (who was rescuing his Nepali princess) said when his brother asked him why he didn't want to rule Sri Lanka.
@headlessideas Looking through your blog, found your 2011 exercise post.

"Recover period" is a thing. For strength training, a 2-3 day rest interval between training. Especially after an endurance test such as you did.
There's a whole science to that, if you haven't found it since.
@dredmorbius Yeah, Since then, I've read quite a bit on different types of physical activity and rest periods for muscle recovery. That said, my only major regular exercise is shadowboxing. Definitely not enough exercise by itself to lose weight or gain much muscle, but it keeps me agile enough and boosts my mood when I'm feeling down.
@dredmorbius I have a few Japanese people on my Facebook feed and the translations provided by Facebook are absolutely useless.
@pmakholm Google's, through Google Translate and G+, have been frighteningly good.
@dredmorbius Since you're not 45*, you should be good.
@dredmorbius well no one language can claim preference over another - its a fact of life that we have many languages in the world. I enable Google Translate so that I can read everything.
@dredmorbius your toot is grateful
its pleasure for us , japanese user
