OK, FOSS privacy people. Here’s the elevator pitch: In times of dirt cheap storage. Why not generate a pair of OTP disks or SD cards full of random noise. In chunks of e.g. 1 MB. Whenever a message is exchanged, the required number of blocks from the pool are used and safely erased afterwards. Could even be used for phone calls: 13,3 kbit/s using Codec 2 and an acoustic coupler with virtually any phone. Since it’s an OTP, XOR could be used. Who wants to put this idea into code?
