For me, Mastodon is a fresh non-incorporated take on social media where the goals of the project are still aligned with the goal of the people who use it. Mechanisms should be put in place to ensure it stays that way even when the project grows beyond the vision or control of the current development team. Also, this foundation timewellspent.io/ has admirable goals which I feel Mastodon would benefit from early on. #MastoTalk #MastoDev

was there a glitch last night on .space instance registration opening? It looks to me like they were never opened. I'll try again tonight. How is the community there?

RT @johnhenry: The best decentralization news this month:

- Truly superb podcast from Tristan Harris of TimeWellSpent.io, talking about the addictive nature of modern webapps and what we can do to fix it. Really lays out the negative aspects of the system in a convincing way. Only issue is that their solution seems to be "convince Google/Facebook/etc to care about the problem", which seems...hopeful, to say the least.

Forget #Bitcoin, Litecoin, Etherium etc... We should switch our currency to potatoes

Benefits:
- Works in any century as a medium of exchange
- Delicious and healthy
- Inherently shows proof of work
- Best of all, hacker proof (unless you own a knife)

I have finally finished Virtual Light by . Should I continue with the trilogy with or bridge trilogy with some ?

I'm having a lovely time learning #elixirlang , and very grateful to all the super helpful folks here on Mastodon, Matrix, & IRC poking me along.

Lots more learning and hacking to do!

So there is no misunderstanding, I include this article because I find the phenomenon interesting from a sociological & technological perspective; not because I think they are healthy, wise, or likely to be profitable. theverge.com/2017/4/26/1540714
