How ZeroLight hire people - six traits:
Determination
Energy
Talent
Attitude
Integrity
Life experiences
Not sure I agree with this - sounds like 'bro' culture in Silicon Valley. 'Cultural fit' and all that bollocks.
@dajbelshaw still is a big step away from the textbook & exam culture so many use to 'prepare' students for their futures...
a definite wake up call
@lauraritchie Yeah, he actually said "no university delivers this"
@dajbelshaw I beg to differ ;)
...currently planning another trip where my students write the handbook, plan the activities, raise money, and deliver whatever we do. Called International Experience and it's as much about buying food and arranging transport (life stuff) as it is using music skills...
No Universities? blanket statements are dangerous and there are always exceptions to the rule. ...even if they are only small examples :)
@dajbelshaw he's right though that it certainly isn't the trend, and there's a looooooong way to go before even the students are generally ready to accept that stuff. -school trains it out of them so early.
@dajbelshaw its not far off what most companies look for to be honest. They just tend to suck at defining them in a way that applicants can actually evidence fairly.
@dajbelshaw
Sounds a bit 'closed-club' to me - not very friendly to people who haven't been able to afford the 'Life experiences' they might value. Sounds like a way to avoid hiring people you don;t like the look of by having these woolly criteria on which to judge them.
