Writing a workshop for the Middle Atlantic Archaeology Conf (Mar 16). Title: A Practical Guide to the Creation, Care, and Feeding of Digital Data. Touching on creation, management, formats, preservation geared toward #crmarch. And will feed into material in ODATE!
I don't have a ton of Mastodon connections from 🐦 yet, but they're rolling in, and you folks are quality! Follow my other instance, @aejolene, as it's more stable and I like the terms. I'll likely retire this one soon.
@captain_primate I'm on the Digital Archaeology Commons thinking about integrating Mastodon (not that I know how technically to implement). Seems like it could help communication flow. Thoughts?
FRIENDLY REMINDER
These instances are not run on commercial servers that proprietary companies can afford. More often than not, these are hobbyists running an instance for the benefit of Mastodon.
DO NOT SPREAD WORD OF MASTODON WITHOUT CLARIFYING THIS. If you do, everyone coming will flock to Mastodon.social, which puts a strain on that one instance and makes it look bad. There are other instances for a reason.
Other than that small preparation, be sure to donate to your instance admin.
Ooh! Regex filters! I like that.
