Just saw Raiders of the Lost Ark with the kiddies. Damn that really holds up.

Only thing I never noticed before was how much of a *terrible* archaeologist he is. All he does is go around and destroy ancient artifacts and cultures.

Holy Shit this is a scary bug.

"This variant of a phishing attack uses unicode to register domains that look identical to real domains. These fake domains can be used in phishing attacks to fool users into signing into a fake website, thereby handing over their login credentials to an attacker"

There is no way to catch this if you are using current versions of FF or Chrome.

It's about time for an and post.

I'm an ex-American from New York who became Canadian and is now living in Costa Rica. I am technical lead at a small software company called Ganchrow Scientific. We do analytics for sports books.

I have a fantastic wife who is homeschooling/unschooling/worldschooling my two fantastic kids.

Reasons why I like living in Costa Rica (other than the natural beauty and laid back lifestyle):

If any crazy shit happens up North, we will not be some of the last people affected.

Costa Rica is a peaceful country. It has no army and has not had political instability in recent history.

It's poor, but there is still enough awareness to give all residents quality nationalized health care.

The country has done an excellent job maintaining its beaches and jungles.

The worst thing about flying (at least when you're in Latin America) is that there is a volcano erupting in Costa Rica and I am stuck in the airport maybe for the whole night.

The best thing about flying when you're outside of North America is that it is almost a joy to go through security.

Flying from Guatemala to Costa Rica and the security here is friendly (we joked a little about my bad Spanish), my shoes stayed on, and we kept our water bottle.

The immigration officials always fawn over my kids. It's almost like the US is a third world country.

I've been off of Mastodon for a week and it already seems to have grown since I've left.

Just finished reading the Seven Surrenders by Ada Palmer. Wow. Just wow. The world that she describes is so complex and wonderful.

The world is in a true Golden Age, with global peace, prosperity, fulfillment. But the cracks are starting to show.

This is the second book of the series, so if you're interested, I'd start with Too Like The Lightning first.

No trolls on Mastodon, but then again not enough Trump hate, so that almost cancels it out.

My first toot. Just trying to see what this thing is all about. Any other Expats around here living in Costa Rica? :flag_cr:

I thought not.
