Yet a lot of this reasoning always feels a bit like everyone is entitled to get everything for free(beer) on the internet, even while most people *of course* expect to be paid for their work. There seem very few ways to make all this (no payment, no ads, yet large amounts of professional grade content) work. :/

@z428 @Violettica @anthk @capefeather @diodelass patreon seems to be the best thing so far for a funding content creation. To be honest I can't really blame people for not paying for stuff because back when I was a teenager I literally wasn't allowed to so paying for stuff was a literal non-starter. Even answered adult with her own credit card I still don't have quite the kind of funding to pay for a lot of stuff.
@Violettica True. I'm also increasingly looking at using services that offer such a model. Maybe something like the micro payment approach in #Brave browser also could help here. It seems important however to get consumers and creators to see each others needs here.
