So... if I switch to another instance, does that mean somebody else can come up and claim titlecharacter@mastodon.cloud?

@Titlecharacter Just go to the website for that particular instance, log in with your handle there, and then go to the settings for that instance. You can set up a redirect there and then just log out of it forever.
@Titlecharacter I don't think so. Everything I've read about moving servers says a redirect is set up from the old to the new, so it sounds like the old one still exists.
@Titlecharacter No, just log in on the web interface and redirect your old one to the new one. That way you don't lose your handle on the old one.
