@dajbelshaw I've been invited to Brussels for the EBA conference in June. Have you been to t previously?
@TheWayneGibbons No, I've never been involved with this. The EU is awash with small-scale programs that have little or no impact. Hope this one is different!
@dajbelshaw we'll see. I'll have to check out flights and accommodation today. They've offered me an Erasmus+ travel grant, but if I have to dig into my own pocket too much I'll have to pass. It's a lot of time and travel to get to Brussels from Galway for a 1-day event.
@TheWayneGibbons Yeah, and often these events are sit-and-listen while they disseminate outputs. But hey, well done on getting the travel grant!
@dajbelshaw turns out travel and accommodation are not that expensive, so I'm going to go along to see what it's all about. If nothing else, I'll get a look around the European Parliament.
@TheWayneGibbons I look forward to reading the blog post :)
@dajbelshaw I've never really been bitten by the blog bug. I've written plenty aimed at my students, as a learning resource, but I've never felt comfortable writing my own thoughts for public consumption. Tweets/toots are fine, but I'm not sure about anything longer. I'd like to, just can't find the right way to do it. I'd also like to do a podcast, but not sure what it would be about and whether anyone would listen!
@TheWayneGibbons Well, you're preventing the world from valuable data and insights. Think of it that way :)
@dajbelshaw hmmm. When you put it that way! I have a conference in London the week before the trip to Brussels, so maybe I could start a blog about events like that which I attend. Problem now is, which platform to use. I'm playing around with a Google Sites website at the moment, so I might pop a blog page on there. It'd be nice to get it on a platform that people will actually find and read.
