So I reckon @tariqk 's overnight ramblings about his kids and random stuff will be one of those fondly remembered legends of early mastodon. A giggly pleasure to start the day.

@TheAdmin so today my Home column is empty, saying i'm not following anyone yet (which is not true btw). Same on Amaroq. The posts, including mine, that were there yesterday are gone. Is there just a short time horizon for their visibility or something?

ok, that seems to be the case. original posts show up, replies presumably thread under it. That... makes sense. Federated is going to become a firehose pretty quickly as it is. 😅
so i did a reply, and the reply didn't turn up on local or federated timelines. do only original posts, non-replies show up there?
So I just reflexively followed @SwiftOnSecuirty here to mastodon.cloud. Is it possible to migrate a user/account name to a different instance later if I decide another home is more appropriate? or is there no need because account names disambiguated by instance?
