Currently testing locally #matedesktop 1.24 on #Solus. Update was smooth. Thanks to the #mate team for their excellent work!

PSA: We will be deferring our regular Friday sync to the stable repository to next Friday (Feb 14th) as we perform additional testing against some massive updates, such as to Python 3. Read more at and expect a blog post early next week for more details!

Building on this, we are also looking into alternatives to systemd's default DNS server: Google, such as Cloudflare DNS (which is, by default in systemd, the fallback). Should we find a privacy-oriented alternative that can operate on our scale, we'll look into switching over.

Happy to say Solus now has its own vendor pool zones for NTP graciously provided by the NTP Pool Project, allowing us to move away from Google for NTP / time server usage.πŸŽ‰

With the latest goodies from the GNOME 3.34 stack in the unstable repo, we're going to be deferring sync until next Friday to ensure the updates you're provided are delivered in a manner which reflects our expectations for testing and polish. This will also provide us an opportunity to work out any issues related to Linux 5.3.1!
