Afternoon, Mastodon. Do we have a term for Mastodon users, yet?

To be clear, I think this is a good thing. I value all this exposure to other languages and mindsets.

Mastodom reminds me a bit of my job at the moment. I have a lot of colleagues for whom English is a second language and I see a lot of words getting substituted and grammar getting muddled.
On Mastodon I see people posting in all sorts of languages, in contrast to other networks where I'm surrounded by English almost all of the time! data retention (rules vary, check your local) The duration for disaggregated unencrypted IPs strikes me as ... long. It's a case where Google policy might well be preferable.

What is your data retention policy?

We will make a good faith effort to:

Retain server logs containing the IP address of all requests to this server no more than 90 days.
Retain the IP addresses associated with registered users and their posts no more than 5 years.

I joined on my lunch break, which has now sadly elapsed. I'll be back a bit later! Or when the boss isn't around...

I'm liking the old-school Tweetdeck vibe of this UI. I do wish twitter hadn't killed and nerfed so many third-party clients!

*taps mic* He- Hello? Is there anybody out there?

Generalistic and moderated instance.
