Just a reminder to all those #BirdSite users: You are paying for Twitter like a serf pays their overlord for the tools to harvest the wheat from his fields.
#MastodonIsBetter #TwitterRefugee #TwitterExodus
Here’s the reminder for all the #TwitterRefugees from the great #TwitterExodus to make sure you boost posts. This is the way we can find each other to follow and make sure we get our message spread. So what do we do here?
Favorite to show that you like a post
Boost to make sure others can find that person and give them visibility.
Oh, and don’t forget those hashtags either!
#voteblue #democrats #SaveTheUS from the #GOPCriminals We hate #fascism
For all of you who wish to stay on the Bird Site, that is your decision. I know your reasoning “we can’t let them win”. Here’s my question. When a business/brand does something you don’t like what are your powers to “speak” your mind? Mine is the power of my wallet. If I don’t like something that a company stand for, I stop giving them my money. For example: I haven’t shopped at Hobby Looby (yes deliberately misspelled) since the SCOTUS decision
I feel the same about when the Twit took over

I must say I’m pretty happy here. I’m completely refreshed and don’t feel like I’m beating my head against the wall anymore. I’ve got my Mastodon toots going automatically to the Bird Site, but I will likely take that down at the end of the week.
Let me know if you’re liking it here as well and I will boost your reply so others will see you and follow you.
Although we joke about this, make sure your bird account is safe.
1) Two-factor authentication is turned on
2) Download a copy of your data file
3) Make your account private
4) Put your other social media handles in your Twitter profile (TikTok, Mastodon etc)
If you feel you need to, deactivate (do not delete) your account
Do you find that the positive stories in the #news tend to get buried in favor of infuriating stories? Me too. That's why every Saturday, I publish a list of good news stories at my blog, Political Charge.
Here's just 1 of the 12 #GoodNews stories I found this week:
>> This week Democrats took control of state houses in Michigan, Maryland, Massachusetts and Minnesota as the new legislative season began
You can see the rest plus a handful of my favorite editorial cartoons from this week at this link:

@rw Let me clarify, by hacks I mean any ways to “break into” the software. Phishing is a form of hacking and far easier than just sitting at a command prompt and typing commands to enter a system and all its security. Hacking = “breaking into” a computer system by any means.
God forbid that white kids actually learn about #slavery & the utter depravity of it all. Or maybe, learn about the actual history of America and the civil war without all of the bullshit & whitewashing of the confederacy and as some called it, the “war of Northern aggression”. This kind of crap makes me sick. #Racism is alive and well in the #UnitedStates. This makes me want to shake people until they get some sense in their thick skull.

@Porpentina2017 I mean, perhaps McCarthy was thinking that it's moot because the Senate won't pass it. BUT, it gives the Dems a gift for 2024. Imagine -- we could honestly say that the GOP House passed a bill to hike sales tax to 30%! Can you imagine?
Our story on the Jan. 6 committee shelving evidence of social media's failures makes today's @washingtonpost front page
A few things of note here.
1) Isn’t #blockchain supposed to be “un-hackable”?
2) Here’s what happens when a currency exchange/institution isn’t secured by the #FDIC and other international financial institutions
3) Yet another ‘crime’ from Bankman-Fried?

If you want to get caught up on the trial so far, I wrote this yesterday:
https://terikanefield.com/another-seditious-conspiracy-trial/
Basically I edited and corrected a long thread I did.
@TonyStark @Porpentina2017
My parents lived with me while my 84-yr-old dad recovered from radiation treatments for NHL. He had to learn to walk & drive again. I began giving him “driving lessons” when he was able to walk 1/2 mile. He & I had been impatient (but not rude) drivers. That changed immediately. I was shocked by how rude other drivers were even tho’ a sticker on his car indicated he was handicapped. “Until it happens to you.”
@mentallyalex @TonyStark @Porpentina2017 I have serious doubts about anyone who wants to demotivate others that way. They need to look inside and take responsibility for being a better person.
@TonyStark
> How are we all going to live in a cooperative, decent society if people cannot be commonly courteous to a stranger?
This is the part I wish more people would see. This is one of the underlying issues. United we stand, divided we fall wasn't just good advice - it was prophetic.
@TonyStark Trying to find a moderate Republican would be like bobbing for apples in a trough full of sewage. And even if you found one that was seemingly pristine, you can't be sure there's not a worm in it.
The GOP is a hate group. It's not even a political position anymore, it's a moral one. Supporting the GOP supports hate.
I tire of conservative lies about pay and the economy. A UK leader said that "significantly increasing pay for public sector is the worst thing we could do for inflation." Patently false!
1. Raising pay in one area doesn't cause inflation--it forces reprioritization of spending. Inflation is caused when the *overall* supply of money rises.
2. Unless leaders are going to limit corporate profit or executive raises, then balancing your economy on the back of nurses and bus drivers is simply evil.
As of today, we are Suspending federation with mastodon.bida.im.
This is due to repeated antisemitism posts on their platform. In addition, their admins appear unresponsive both to reports and to private messages. We have an obligation to protect our users and community from hate speech and thus we must de-federate from this instance.
I’m here to fight the evil in the people’s House & Senate. Wand at the ready!
#TwitterMigrant and I’m liking the looks of this place. I think I’ll stay.
I follow people who boost and interact with my posts. Please be patient, sometimes it takes me a while.
