I just saw a post that said being a crackhead was not a disease, because 'How do you go outside and catch crackhead'
So, let me clear things up for anyone who may be asking themselves this question:
Sexually transmitted diseases are brought on by actions you enact, they are still diseases.
Cancer can be brought on by smoking, also a choice you enact. Cancer is still a disease.

Your actions are not what define what a disease is, and many diseases are brought on by your actions, they are still diseases.
You fundamentally misunderstanding what makes a disease, a disease; does not stop those diseases from being a disease.

For further reference: Disease is defined not only as a disorder of structure or function in a human, animal, or plant, especially one that produces specific signs or symptoms or that affects a specific location and is not simply a direct result of physical injury, but also as a particular quality, habit, or disposition regarded as adversely affecting a person or group of people. And THAT my friends, is why being addicted to drugs IS a disease. Thank you.
