My sole accomplishment so far this Saturday morning is creating a Ryan Gosling meme to make my husband laugh: Show more

Day 3: Still the only user of most of the hashtags in my personal tag cloud.

Me: rushing around frantically, late for appointment

Husband: Are you going to eat before you go?

Me: takes time to find & send him image of magic 8 ball saying not very likely

My operational speed this morning: I'm like Mary Lennox on her first day at Misselthwaite Manor when she just stood there waiting for someone to dress her.

Day two on a new platform: I follow everyone who makes me laugh.

Also, this jumping back and forth between instances (to test how search works! for SCIENCE!) feels like that time Jack Tripper had two dates at once. Also Michael Scott. Also Alex P. Keaton. Also Peter Brady. Also Abed. This trope never ends well.

Welp, now I'm thoroughly baffled. A search--in my other instance--for a hashtag I have used here *twice* turns up *one* hit over there: my second usage (which I posted here after I joined the other instance). Turns up zero hits for other hashtags I've used here once (before I joined a second instance).

The results of my highly scientific experiment, then, are that hashtag search works across instances only if the Red King is still dreaming.

But (seeing flaw in my test) I don't follow this account (my own) in that other instance. So would I get a different search result if a tag was used by someone I do follow?

LOL I'm confusing myself...

Okay, I joined another instance (and I have no idea if that's uncool or not) and tested the hashtag search. Seems to be specific to your instance. For inst--er, for example—I show up as the only user of so far on this instance. I searched from another instance and got zero hits for that hashtag.

Ok, I think it sucks that when you look at someone's profile, it only shows the number of followers and followed that correspond to YOUR instance. I know people that have a lot of followers/followed already, but ONLY show a count of ONE and just me! (Grumpy old man mode off)

Are hashtag searches specific to your instance?

We've just ordered new hearing aids for my son. Exciting to learn about tech advances in the five years since we got his current pair. The new ones will have a remote mic that can be plugged into TV or iPad, piping the audio directly into his ears.

@Lissa and we've all been dropped off on roughly the same day, not knowing hardly anyone.

NEW FRIEND TIME

This has a bit of a summer camp feel. People in your instance are your bunkmates, and there are all these other cabins out there full of fellow campers meeting you for meals and fireside stories.

And now I'll stop before I recreate the entire tag cloud from my blog. Heh.

I just looked up hashtags for a bunch of my main topics and...looks like my crowd hasn't arrived quite yet. But I cross over to lots of fields.
