yeah ok dylan @Dylanabbott@mastodon.cloud

I have a friend. Her name is Boxcar....

Tonight was white wine, tequila, Dinner, band practice, IPA, more tequila, Modern Lovers, and cats. Basically as good as it gets.

Follow up! Half the party had to cancel, so the rest of us hung out and played Joking Hazard and Dixit.

Next week, every monster gets an extra hit die. Mwahahahahahahaha.

(Maybe. I'm actually a pushover DM)

I love seeing languages I don't speak/read on here. Makes me feel aspirational and also regretful about being mostly monolingual.

Next phase of night: looking for interesting people to follow. Is that you?

Oh hai again mastodons.

Tonight has been brought to you by undercooked cheeseburgers, transit screw-ups, and record alphabetizing.

And a little tequila.

How have you been?

@Dylanabbott heh, it'd be just one big dungeon with no traps, all creatures have 1HP, there's a million GP on a cart with a pony, and everyone levels up twice, even the bloody cleric.

Almost forgot I had D&D this afternoon. Would have been awkward, as I'm the DM.

Long day. Breakfast, pub league soccer, cleaning house, improvised dinner, birthday party with bounce house, watched ~65% of the Sounders game, ate late night cheeseburgers. Wiped. Gonna try to finish re-reading Louis Riel before I'm done.

Probably should have made my account in witches.town. That's one hell of an instance name.

Well, ok. Sleep time. Maybe I'll think about this more tomorrow.

«Connections between instances are established by users following each other. Via such followings all these instances can (at least in principle) be joined into one compound structure or network of self-contained instances. This is called the Federation. GNU social/StatusNet is structured in such a way that there needs to be only one following of a user a from instance A to a user b from instance to B to make b visible to everybody in instance A via The Whole Known Network. 1/2

@Dylanabbott you want to pick an instance you're reasonably certain will still exist in a year.

There is no easy mechanism to move between instances.

Do I have this straight?
Home = people you follow
Local = everything on your instance
Federated = all instances

@Dylanabbott At this point, a bigger instance means more activity and diversity in your local TL (but you won't enjoy a local TL focused on a specific topic)
And if we understood correctly how the federated TL works, the more user in your instance, the more choice you will have in your Fed TL
